HP Goverment Declared Shimla a Smoke Free City


The Government of Himachal Pradesh finally declared Shimla city the first Smoke Free city in Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal has declared the status on the bases of the study conducted by The Union South East New Delhi in May 2010. The study absorbed about 97% of the public places in Shimla city free from cigarrette smoking. HPVHA has initiated it already on WNTD on 31st May, 2010. The organization has lobbied regularly with top policy holdres for this and finally govrnment of HP has made it and emphasised to Smoke Free district headquartres in next WNTD 2011.
